High School and Onward?

It doesn't seem that long ago since the beginning of high school. Where we were all afraid of the big seniors. Where finding classes took skill, short cuts were still being found. Where we clung to each other for dear life...those were the days. The days of semi freedoms. When we were allowed out at night, but only until 9:30. Where we were once big fish in a small pond, jumping into the lake for the next grand experience. We were afraid of the upperclassmen with their weird clothes, odd routines, funny expressions...and we all we wanted to do was to be accepted by them, to just blend right it. Little did we know that they could spot a freshman a mile away. We tried too hard, stumbled and fell...but we always got back up. The endurance and will to keep fighting got us through the first few weeks, but it was never easy. As soon as we were acclimated to the high school routine, we were inundated by work, but we kept pushing. After freshman year we were no longer the little guys, we were off of the target, but we remembered. Sophomore year was harder, more work, new faces (again), less free time...and yet I can positively say that was one of my favorite years of high school. I met more people, made more friends, got involved a great deal more...and I still had time to do an AP course. Then Junior year, one of the most difficult. The last year colleges would see, you had to give it your all, or die trying. Senior year. It was rough. Knowing we only had one more year together before many of us parted for colleges and universities across America. We lived it up, had great memories, more drama than some of us would have liked, made even more friends, lasting friends. It was a time of growth, relaxation, drama....to live. Now high school is over, some of us decided on four more years of schooling, some of us only 2, and some of us went straight to the workforce, whatever your decisions, we're no longer in high school. Life, as we've never known it has begun. We are responsible, free, without restraints. Let us follow our dream, stay with your friends, make new ones, and enjoy what we've been given. We only have so much time on this planet we call home...let's live it as best we can. =]
